THE IRIS

The Iris Theatre was open in 1918 with seating listed at 250. The theatre was located one building from the corner and would later become the Burk Theatre.

It continued to show motion pictures until the early-1940’s.

The Burk Theater

The Burk Theatre was located in historic downtown Midvale in the 1940s through 1975. The theatre was owned by Burkinshaw family and showed movies. The theater was later known as the Gazebo Theatre and the Main Street Cinema.

THE COMEDY CIRCUIT

Around 1990, Bill Spinning – known as “Spin” took over the building and started up a comedy club called the Comedy Circuit.  He brought Las Vegas flair to his production and his fingerprints can still be found in the various tile murals that grace the walls.

Midvale main street theatre

In the 2010s, Tammy and Stephan Ross purchased the theater and renamed it the Midvale Main Street Theatre.  Tammy used the theater to house her children’s theater productions.  They had a very successful theater group with a wide following.  Their productions can still be seen in the theater space three times a year.
